recycling cans to buy frozen yogurt

today, we had big plans. the big plan was to clean out the backyard by getting rid of all the aluminum cans, plastic and glass bottles that we've been recyclying since we moved in. our plan was to use the money we got from the recyclying company to buy some frozen yogurt. that we did. we got $7.45. cha-ching!
the recyclying place made us feel dirty so we had to come home and shower before we headed out to get our frozen yogurt. both david and i heard many people in sacramento raving about this place called the big spoon. we had to try it. now we feel like we missed out on it all this time we've been living in sacramento. man oh man. it's just a fun place to be. it's totally self serving. you can pile as much yogurt on your cup and mix it with as many flavors as you want because you're paying for the weight of your cup, not the size of cup you pick. after that, they have a large wall full of toppings! lots of syrup, whip cream, and plenty of candy toppings! we kept thinking while we were there, "oh how fun it would be if we were there as a kid." i'm taking my nephew and neices there the next time they come up!

St. Patrick's Day

this year happened to be the first year d and i actually celebrated st. patty's day. joylyn invited us over for dinner and to hang out. she made us corned beef with cabbage, carrots, and potatoes. it was our first time eating it and it was yummy!! bad picture on my part...but i had to take a picture of the first corned beef i ever ate. haha

joylyn made a drink for me and it actually wasn't that bad. i was able hold off on taking my chaser right away. that's a good sign. we just spent the night talking, playing cards, and drinking. i don't think d enjoyed listening to us talk about work, ABA, and psychology stuff most of the night haha. but overall, it was fun. i can't believe i stayed out until 2 am on a work night to celebrate st. patties day! man.

RUN out of alcohol? why not walk to the convenient store across the street and leave the house door unlock as you do?

Last weekend

I had a fun weekend with some family last weekend. Jennie and family + Maui came up. These kids are awesome at playing those arcade games for tickets!!! Maui though...i don't know...i don't think those tickets are hers.

scrapbook paper art

i haven't scrapbooked in forever but the other day i actually got to get good use out of my scrapbook papers which has been sitting on the shelf for a very long time. I cut them up and framed them as art. quick and easy. OH, and those bathroom curtains are new also =)

need exercise no junk food

i promised myself that i would wake up early before work to run. that didn't happen. instead, i ended up pressing the snooze button every 8 minutes for an entire hour. i need to start doing something about this! especially after how i felt from barely running on saturday with joylyn and d. my ankles were aching the entire weekend. so then i tell myself, i should atleast start eating healthier while i'm trying to get my act together to start exercising. well, that's not happening either. after work tonight, i felt the urge to go to the supermarket and get some snacks so i can stay focused on writting my report (junk food really does that for me). david got stuff from the dairy and produce department to make a salad while i raided the cookie and soda isles. of course that's what i came home with. lots of them. haha. so before i started working tonight, i prepped myself a snack tray. you see, atleast i made an effort to limit the amount i was going to eat. i really did. and i even tried to make it somewhat healthy. notice the orange? =). all of that chased down with a glass of mountain dew. yummy.

longing for a garden

oh how i long for my backyard to look like this... so i can lounge in those cool blue chairs, drink juice, and read an amazing novel as d plays fetch with snoopy.

alright, i can't get my backyard to look like that but i'll start off small. my goal this spring is to plant atleast 3 different flowers in my backyard.

rainy days

the weather has been unpredictable around here for the last month or so. one day it's warm, bright, and sunny. the next day, it's dark, cold, and rainy. i prefer the warmer days. here's why i don't like rainy days too much...

1. it's usually accompanied with the cold and windy weather..BLAH
2. it means my hair and/or clothes gets wet when i go outside which i don't enjoy at all.
3. worst of all, i get really lazy on rainy days. i just want to cuddle with snoop the dog, lie on my sofa, and watch desperate housewives or 24 all day. which is okay if i didn't have anything else to do.
4. well, maybe this is worst. snoopy won't go out to potty when it's raining. like this morning, he sat at the backyard door to go potty but each time i let him out, he'd stay under the overhang and stare out at the rain and then try to run back inside. finally i had to go out there and stand out in the rain so he could see it's okay, and that he would live through it. he followed me slowly. and finally peed. and yes, he definitely lived through it.

OH. well there is one thing i do like about rainy days.

1.
i get to wear my itty bitty polka dotty rain boots.

we went to the laundromat today because we didn't get to go to modesto to wash our clothes this weekend =)
