when we moved to midtown, we discovered a few things. one of the things we discovered is that there is a chinese restaurant that is walking distance from our house that serves dimsum from opening to closing time. that was exciting to find out because i loooove dimsum. david doesn't care so much for dimsum he says but after we went to it the first time, he wanted to walk back there again the day after, which we did do. this place, which is called capital tea garden, isn't all that pretty on the eye but their food isn't bad and i do like their hot oil sauce a lot! for me, if the hot oil is good, then i am happy if the dimsum is decent. then not too long after that discovery, we found out about another dimsum joint in midtown that served it from opening to closing time as well! this place isn't walking distance but the food their is a little better. the pictures below are from this second place we discovered called teacup cafe.
fried eggplant. very good!
i love their egg cream sweet bun. however, what is weird is that the second time we went with some friends, it not only tasted different, it looked very different. but it was the same idea. maybe different bakers? the first time batch was amazing!!!
and of course, my favorite anywhere. hai gaw.
I've eaten here! SJ introduced me, it's her place.
